Privacy policy
How Traffinaty Editorial handles personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data controller
The data controller for personal data collected through traffinaty.com is Traffinaty Editorial, Manchester, United Kingdom. Enquiries about this policy, or about personal data we hold, should be sent to [email protected].
2. What we collect
Traffinaty is a static editorial publication. We do not operate accounts, do not process payments, and do not store user-submitted personal information. The only personal data we may process is the following:
- Server log data — IP address, user-agent string, requested URL, and timestamp, generated automatically by our hosting provider when you load a page.
- Cookie data — see the cookie policy for the full list. Essential cookies remember your age-confirmation and cookie-consent choices; optional analytics cookies are loaded only with your consent.
- Correspondence — if you write to [email protected], we hold your message and email address in order to reply.
3. Lawful basis
We process the data above on the following UK GDPR lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for server log data, used to maintain site security and diagnose technical issues.
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for optional analytics cookies, recorded via the cookie banner.
- Legitimate interests — for handling correspondence you initiate.
4. Retention
Server logs are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or aggregated. Cookie-consent choices persist in your browser for up to 12 months unless you clear them sooner. Correspondence is retained for up to 24 months unless a longer retention period is required to resolve a continuing enquiry.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with operators we review. We use the following categories of processor in the ordinary course of running the site: a hosting provider (for serving the site), an email provider (for receiving correspondence sent to our contact address), and, where you have consented, an analytics provider. Operator outbound links open on the operator's own site; once you leave Traffinaty, that operator's privacy policy applies.
6. International transfers
Where a processor stores or processes data outside the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an equivalent safeguard recognised under UK GDPR.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate data; erase data (the right to be forgotten); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
8. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law or in our processing. The date at the head of this page indicates the most recent revision.
